What is Outlook Anywhere? Outlook Anywhere is an enterprise grade email and collaboration service using Microsoft technology brought to you by Vistra. With Outlook Anywhere you will:

  • receive ongoing free software upgrades (e.g. Microsoft Exchange 2007)
  • receive Platinum Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus services
  • be able to access all your emails / calendar / contacts from anywhere in the world
  • be able to view shared calendar and shared contacts
  • have all your information backed up daily without fail

Is Outlook Anywhere for people who already have a mail server? If you already have a mail server then there is a chance you are already enjoying some of the benefits of enterprise email services. None the less many of our customers see Outlook Anywhere as a way of reducing the cost and risk associated with managing these servers themselves. Even if your mail server is less than a year old we have a business case that will show you improved functionality and better pay back than keeping this hardware in-house and onsite.

Why is Outlook Anywhere better than POP3? POP3 is the name for basic email services where you don't have mail server hardware and your ISP provides you with the ability to send and receive emails.

How do I know if I have POP3? If you have POP3 then it is likely that either your ISP or domain registrar is providing your email services as opposed to having mail server hardware onsite.

I currently use Outlook Express can I still get a free copy of Outlook? Yes. Outlook Anywhere does come with a free copy of Microsoft Outlook worth several hundred dollars this means that you will get great features like calendaring which are not available in Outlook Express.

Can I use Outlook Anywhere if I use an Apple Mac?Yes but only via the web i.e. using OWA (Outlook Web Access).

Is there a minimum number of users to get Outlook Anywhere? No. We supply customers from 1 user up to a 1000 users.

What if some of my users are based in different locations? Outlook Anywhere fits perfectly with businesses that have multiple locations and ensures that all users can collaborate no matter where they are without traditionally costly IT infrastructure.

Will Outlook Anywhere get rid of all my spam? Outlook Anywhere comes with a Platinum grade Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus service. We cannot guarantee no spam but the majority of our customers would agree that we can reduce it far more effectively when compared to doing this in house.

What if my internet connection frequently goes down? Outlook Anywhere operates using a sophisticated synchronization protocol that ensures that whenever you are connected to the net, your email and other data is backed up to a Data Centre. When you don't have connectivity you can view and manage your emails and data "offline" but you just can't send (similar to existing POP3 or server technology).

Do I have to pay any more for software upgrades e.g. Exchange 2007? No. You pay a fixed monthly fee and this includes new software upgrades when they become available. The next software release will be Exchange 2007 coming next year.

What new features are in Exchange 2007? Take a few moments to browse www.microsoft.com.

What if I have quite a few domains do I have to pay for lots of Outlook Anywhere accounts? No. You can setup separate "SMTP" domains and point them to a single Outlook Anywhere account.

I have a PDA - can I view my emails and calendar? Yes. Call our support line 0800 V I S T R A if you want to know if your device can be configured to work with Outlook Anywhere.

Are my files backed up? Yes. All data is backed up every day without fail and we have several IT technicians who are dedicated to ensuring the most secure and safe environment for your business information.

Are my files secure? Yes. We operate a fully secure Data Centre facility worth several million dollars and take your business data security extremely seriously. We want to provide all our customers with peace of mind - we run your IT so that you can run your business.

If you are an existing Outlook Anywhere customer then it can take between 5 and 10 minutes.

Is there a cost if I delete a user? No. You can delete users with 1 months notice.
